Call to Order: An emergency meeting of the Animal Advisory Committee was held in Roxboro, North
Carolina on May 20, 2021. The meeting convened at 5:39pm.

Unfinished Business:
1. Term Limits for Animal Advisory Committee Members: Kelli explained the following
recommendations by Brenda Reaves for term limits. Kelli noted she is on committee, but has no
voting rights.
a. It is recommended to have NO breaks between terms, but members must reapply and
be appointed for additional terms.
b. Recommended to have terms of 2 or 3 years. Discussion of numbering seats and
staggered positions to start (i.e. Seats 1 & 2 begin with 2-year terms and seats 3 & 4
begin with 3-year terms). Following discussion, first motion was made by Cindy to have
3-year terms. Seconded by Derrick, approved unanimously.
c. Cathy made motion for initial term assignments to be staggered with seats 1 & 2
beginning with 2-year terms and seats 3 & 4 to have 3-year terms. Following initial
appointments, all will be 3-year terms. Janet C. seconded, unanimously approved.
d. Vote on term limits for all positions, or only citizen at large positions. Motion made by
Janet S., seconded by Derrick, approved unanimously.
e. Terms for current members would begin once approved by County Commissioners

Cathy made motion to dismiss, seconded by Derrick. Adjourned at 6:00pm
