Call to Order: A regular meeting of the Animal Advisory Committee was held in Roxboro, North Carolina
on February 17, 2022, The meeting convened at 6:03pm
Approval of Minutes from November 4, 2021: Motion made by Cathy to approve, Second by Janet S.
Unfinished Business
1. Adoption Application (T.Briggs)- No concerns with application from members. Dr. Harris made
motion to approve, Charlie seconded motion, unanimously approved.
2. Gun Policy (K. Oakley)-Kelli Oakley discussed gun policy that has been put into written format
and is now in front of County Lawyer waiting on approval. Policy has been approved by Asst.
County Manager, County manager and County Safety Director. Once returned from lawyer, an
official presentation will be made to County Commissioners. This policy is not needing approval
of Committee, however, it is important that Committee members are aware of policy and its
standing.
Other Reports
1. Shelter Stats-Intake numbers for dogs are lower than previous years due to
construction/renovations being done on drain system in dog kennels. Cat adoptions are up
compared to previous year due to continued partnership with PetSense.
Adjournment: Cathy made motion to adjourn, Dr. Harris seconded motion, unanimously approved.
