Section 5311 (ADTAP), 5310, 5339, 5307 and applicable State funding,
or combination thereof.
This is to inform the public that a public hearing will be held on the pro-
posed FY 2027 Community Transportation Program Application to be
submitted to the North Carolina Department of Transportation no later than
October 3, 2025. The public hearing will be held on September 15, 2025 at
9:00 am before the Person County Board of Commissioners.
Those interested in attending the public hearing and needing either auxil-
iary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or a
language translator should contact Mitch Fleig on or before September 12,
2025, at telephone number (336) 597-1771 or via email at mfleig@person-
countync,gov.
The Community Transportation Program provides assistance to coordinate
existing transportation programs operating in Person County as well as
provides transportation options and services for the communities within this
service area. These services are currently provided using demand response,
subscription, fixed route, and trip referrals. Services are rendered by ADA
equipped vans and Light Transit Vehicles by Person Area Transportation
System.
The total estimated amount requested for the period July 1, 2026 through
June 30, 2027.
NOTE: Local share amount is subject to State funding availability.
This application may be inspected at the Transportation Office, 303 S Morgan
St. Roxboro, NC from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Written
comments should be directed to Michele Solomon, Clerk to the Board at 304
S. Morgan St. Rm 212, Roxboro, NC before September 11, 2025
