PERSON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS January 29, 2026

The Board of Commissioners for the County of Person, North Carolina, met in a
joint session with the Person County Economic Development Commission, Person County
School Board, and Roxboro City Council for the Person County Housing Summit on
Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, located at 218
Chub Lake Street, Roxboro, NC.
Chairman Puryear called the Person County Board of Commissioners meeting to
order and recognized a quorum was present. Chairman Dr. Scott McKinney called the
Person County Economic Development Commission meeting to order and recognized a
quorum was present. There was no quorum present for the Person County Board of
Education or the Roxboro City Council.
Creative Economic Development Consulting, LLC Founder and CEO Crystal
Morphis facilitated the Person County Housing Summit. Topics discussed included the
following:
Overview of Housing Market and Best Practices
Housing Development Update
Teacher Housing Project Update
Person County’s Constraints and Opportunities Addressing Housing Needs

ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Commissioner Thomas and carried 5-0 to adjourn the
Person County Board of Commissioners meeting at 5:53 p.m. followed by a motion made
by Vice-Chairman Philip Allen with the Person County Economic Development
Commission to adjourn the Person County Economic Development Commission.
