Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Beverly Cates. II. Approval of Minutes (January 2026) A motion was made to approve the amended January 2026 meeting minutes by Charles Harvey. Aron Lappin seconded and the motion passed. III. Program Updates Program updates were given by Roots & Wings and Youth Villages: Roots & Wings (Ronnie Dunevant & Courtney Jackson) Community Service – 2 @ Eckerds Facility Life Skills – 2 in class, 1 waiting admission Teen Court – 3 referrals Parenting Class – 5 – 6 in current class Youth Villages (Alexandra “Lexi’ Kam) Currently accepting referrals. Lexi explained wrap around services and insurance limitations for their services. Medicaid is payer of first resort, so referrals available to those without Medicaid coverage. IV. Consultant's Report - Person County JCPC is in the second of a two-year funding cycle. No application due this year. - Monitoring Report will be reported at the next meeting - Violent crimes committed by youth are going straight to adult court V. Chief Court Counselor Report - Low referrals. Seen intakes to date. Serving four juveniles on probation in Person County. Law Enforcement and community can make referrals. Lexi Cam questioned LEO of how youth get connected to mental health, when referred by non-juvenile justice avenues. Ms. Cam offered to put email in the chat to help with additional support, would like to connect with LE. Cathy Waugh offered to get with Youth Villages and SROs to help with referrals in school setting. VI. Old Business None. VII. New Business: none VIII. Announcements Monitoring Committee will meet and have report ready for the next meeting. Cathy Waugh announced Vaya presentation and New Haven resources for Families on March 2nd and March 24th - IX. Adjournment Next meeting will be March 11th @1:00 pm
