Call to Order:
A scheduled meeting for the Human Services Advisory Committee was held at Person County DSS FEMA
room, located at 355B S Madison Blvd, Roxboro NC on August 12, 2026. The meeting was called to order by
Sandy Parker at 4:05 pm.

Non-Members:
Brian Hart, Ashley Stone, Adam Pantola
Members Absent:
None
Approval of Minutes:
Approval of Minutes from June 10, 2026:
Treco made a motion to approve the June minutes. Motion seconded by Tabatha. Unanimously approved.
Items for Discussion:
I. Old Business
a. Veterans Services Office Update
Mr. Hart introduced Adam Pantola, Veterans Service Officer (VSO), to the committee. Mr. Hart
shared that filling this position was an intentional process. The Person Veterans Council and
the Durham County Director of Veterans Services were included in the process. During the
interim, Person County worked with Durham, Granville, and other counties to ensure
continuity of services provided to veterans. Mr. Pantola is not currently credentialed as a VSO
but will have the opportunity to attend training to become certified this fall.
Mr. Pantola gave a brief introduction to the committee and committee members introduced
themselves.
II. New Business
a. Internet Crimes Against Children (presentation)
Sgt. Wesley Brown presented information regarding internet crimes against children and
answered questions from committee members
b. Huddle Up with Human Services Update
Mr. Hart shared that the next event will be held on August 26, 2026 at 10 am at the Kirby
Cultural Arts Complex and will feature a presentation on Child Support. There will also be a

presentation from the Person County Health Department. Mr. Hart shared that most Huddle
Up events have included presentations from county departments and explained that at the
September HSAC meeting, members could discuss options to engage the community for future
Huddle Up events.

Treco made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Jayne. Meeting adjourned at 4:59 pm.
